Dr. J Avery Rush
J. Avery Rush, M.D. (“Dr. Avery”) graduated medical school from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX followed by residency training at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. He is among the premiere refractive surgeons in Texas. With a tradition of eye care excellence that spans more than 40 years, Dr. Rush has been a pioneer in the field of vision correction. He was the first surgeon in the Texas Panhandle region to offer patients the benefits of LASIK, which has become the safest and most popular vision correction procedure ever developed.
Dr. Avery co-founded the state-of-the-art Laser Center for Vision, the first free-standing privately owned laser vision correction center in the state of Texas. During the past two decades, Dr. Rush has helped set the standard in LASIK and allowed for thousands of people to enjoy clearer, more natural vision.
Dr. Avery’s son, Dr. Sloan W. Rush, joined the team to form Rush Eye Associates paving the way for the introduction of the most innovative refractive surgery and cataract surgical techniques.
