Jason was born and raised in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School and West Texas A&M University. After completing post-baccalaureate training in biomedical sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas, he earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Bethel University in Tennessee. He is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.
With more than fifteen years of experience in ophthalmology, Jason specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and corneal disease. He has managed hundreds of cases utilizing Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) technology and is recognized in the Texas Panhandle for delivering highly customized refractive cataract outcomes.

Trained in corneal disease and complex ocular surface management under Dr. Rush, Jason developed advanced expertise in refractive optimization and anterior segment care. His understanding of corneal healing dynamics and refractive precision uniquely positions him in the application of Light Adjustable Lens technology, where optimal lens performance depends on meticulous corneal management.
Jason is highly experienced in diagnosing and treating complex corneal pathology, including keratoconus, post-surgical complications, and corneal transplant care. His proficiency in both preoperative optimization and long-term postoperative management enables him to successfully manage challenging cases while integrating corneal health with refractive accuracy.
In addition to his clinical work, Jason serves as a Faculty Associate Professor at Texas Tech medical school, teaching medical students in the clinical setting. He is committed to mentoring future physicians with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine, surgical precision, and compassionate care.
Known for his calm demeanor and collaborative approach, Jason works closely with Dr. Rush and patients to achieve personalized vision correction. His extensive experience with postoperative LAL adjustments allows for refined visual outcomes and high patient satisfaction.
